Comfort Layer

The comfort layer is the top layer of your Tempur-Pedic® mattress and helps determine its "feel" (soft, medium, or firm) for personalized comfort and support. The comfort layer is also constructed from one-of-a-kind TEMPUR-Material™.

Support Layer

Located below the comfort layer, this layer provides essential support and helps distribute body weight evenly across the mattress. The support layer includes a proprietary formulation of TEMPUR-Material™.

ORIGINAL TEMPUR®

Originally formulated to absorb the G-Force of NASA astronauts traveling into space and then perfected by us for sleep — it's as comfortable and supportive as iconic.

TEMPUR-ES® (Extra Soft)

The tighter, slightly rougher cell structure of TEMPUR-ES® creates a softer feel that works in combination with other layers to support and relax.

TEMPUR-APR®, TEMPUR-APR+™, & Ventilated Advanced Relief™ Material

Advanced Relief™ material is available in three variations: TEMPUR-APR®, TEMPUR-APR+™, and Ventilated Advanced Relief™ material — designed for deeper, more rejuvenating sleep. TEMPUR-APR+™ delivers all the pressure relief of our standard TEMPUR-APR™ with a tighter, more advanced cell structure for ultra-conforming comfort. Ventilated Advanced Relief™ material combines our most pressure-relieving material ever with an all-new, ultra-breathable design featured exclusively in our TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze° Collection.

SMARTCLIMATE® DUAL COVER SYSTEM VS. SMARTCLIMATE® COVER

The SmartClimate® Dual Cover System features next-generation technology with a zip-off, cool-to-touch outer layer that’s machine washable and a super-stretch inner panel for convenience and comfort. This system is featured in our TEMPUR-Adapt® Collection.

The SmartClimate® Cover is cool-to-the-touch, infused with heat-absorbing fibers to help draw heat away from the body, providing cooling comfort. The cover is designed with a convenient 360-degree zipper to be easily removable and machine-washable. You'll find this cover exclusively in our TEMPUR-Breeze® Collection.

Pure Cool® vs. Pure Cool® Plus

Our reinvented Pure Cool® Plus material is an exclusive formula that’s lighter-weight and more breathable to enable better airflow. This material also has a thinner capsule wall, providing more cooling power per cubic foot than our previous technology. Pure Cool® Plus is the enhanced version of Tempur-Pedic’s exclusive and innovative cooling material, designed to pull heat away from your body, so even the hottest of sleepers can stay cool—all night long.
