Operation Shut Eye: 10,000+ Mattresses Donated
— by Tempur-Pedic on Sep 18, 2020
Tempur Sealy partners with Ashley HomeStore with one mission in mind — Operation Shut Eye. Operation Shut Eye is dedicated to helping America’s Special Operations Forces' Warriors get a much-needed, great night's sleep.
Each month, we coordinate with Darkhorse Benefits — a nonprofit 501c3 that works to improve the lives of active-duty Special Operations Forces service members — by donating multiple truckloads of Tempur-Pedic® mattresses.

The 10,000th Mattress Milestone
Veterans Day 2019 provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate our heroes and continue our work with Operation Shut Eye. When Operation Shut Eye arrived at Fort Campbell, we knew this delivery was particularly special. This not only marked the 10,000th Tempur-Pedic mattress donated, but it was also close to our headquarters’ home. Fort Campbell straddles our Kentucky border with Tennessee, which made this donation especially memorable.
"Each of the many Operation Shut Eye donation events throughout the year are special to us, but this one stands out since Tempur Sealy is a Kentucky-based company," said Steve Rusing, EVP & President, U.S. Sales for Tempur Sealy. "We appreciate any chance to thank the service personnel who allow us to sleep safely at night, and it's an honor to help them get a great night's sleep in return."
We are continuously working to bring Operation Shut Eye to other Special Operations Forces units, and are excited for the future donations we have planned in the coming months.
